As of August 10, 2020, Colorado State Archives will be closed to unscheduled walk-in in-person assistance and the 1313 Sherman building will be locked down. While our building is closed to the public because of COVID-19, we are still open for business for Coloradans.

Colorado State Archives is currently offering appointments for in-person assistance on a very limited basis.  Appointments must be made in advance by calling 303-866-2358 during business hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to speak with a staff member to determine the days and times available as well as the procedures for coming into the research room.  There may be a longer-than-normal wait time for an appointment, and appointments cannot be made for that same day.  Records to view during appointments must be requested in advance as records may not be able to be pulled during appointment times.

We will continue to process remote requests, although you may experience a delay in turnaround time for requests requiring lengthy research or records over 100 pages.

If there are any additional changes to our operations, we will continue to post updates on our website and will work with our customers for temporary solutions as needed.

For questions or concerns, please call 303-866-2358 during business hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
